DID YOU KNOW THAT

- Approximately 2,000 Muslims are incarcerated in Louisiana, with limited access to Islamic literature, materials, and instruction.

- When a Muslim inmate passes away, a Janazah prayer is rarely performed.

- Many Muslim inmates in Louisiana are denied the right to attend or establish Jumu'ah prayers.

- Many Muslim inmates released from prison in Louisiana return to communities lacking reentry support services.

- There is only one active Muslim Chaplain in the entire state, whereas each of the 8 state-run facilities has multiple Christian chaplains.

- It is a fard kifayah (collective duty/communal obligation) for the Muslim community to assist these individuals.

Let's work together to address these pressing issues and provide vital support to our incarcerated and reentering Muslim brothers and sisters.
